Welcome to Square Eyed Cinema – a support system for those who gladly suffer with quadrate oculi! Now before you dive into the podcast, I suppose we’d first better take you by the hand and lead you gently into this brave new world of television movies, or rather the brave old world of TV movies.

In each episode we will be presenting you with a representative sample of the good, the bad and the down right ugly from the world of made-for-TV movies – predominantly from the UK and the USA. We’ll be reaching deep into the far reaches of yesteryear, with gems and clunkers from as far back as the 1950s and right up to the present day.

Throwing caution to the wind as well as cohesion, each podcast will run the gamut of genres, from horror to comedy, fantasy to fable, melodrama to thriller. You’ll meet some famous names and hopefully have a few surprises. We’ll take an informed, if at times irreverent look at this oft-neglected area of cinema and/or TV (ahh it’s so confusing). Always with affection, good humour and genuine enthusiasm to review, scrutinise and discuss each ‘movie of the week’. Listeners and visitors are encouraged to share their own thoughts on each week’s pick and over time, hopefully suggest a few titles we have either neglected or never heard of.

Along the way, we’ll be featuring guest contributors who will try to make sense of your hosts, Andrew and JP. One is the brains and the other isn’t – and it wont take long to work out which.

So, grab your TV dinner of choice, dim the lights, and settle in for an hour (or thereabouts) of two fellas trying to find a corner of the podcasting universe that hasn’t been ransacked to death!
